I bought mine in 1997 and have used it more times than I can count. Just got home from camping in Southern Utah and it performed perfectly, as always. The strong winds (gusting over 30mph) barely budged the tent.
Over the nearly 30 years I have had the tent, the only thing I have had to do is replace a couple poles/stakes (my fault!) and fix a screen tear. Never been a drop of water inside and we have had heavy rain and a couple of inches of snow on the tent.
Suggestion: Get a door mat or rug to wipe your feet on the way in and pick up a cheap area rug (5x7 or 8x10 or so). It's so nice to have carpeting inside. And do not put away wet. You can bring it home wet, but then lay it out in your garage or driveway.
By far the most simple tent to set for its size and spacious. And does real well in high wind better than I thought it would!!
Very helpful and had those misc items I wanted and needed.
Ordered this beast with the nomad large stove and picked it up at the border and set it up in the backyard in a snowstorm that night. Straightforward setup and solid as a rock when guyed out. Still raining and snowing here on night two. Have been working so haven’t been around all day and it’s managed extremely well. Been using a roof rake to manage the snow in the mornings and running a fire at night to warm the tent. Kids love it, lots of room for family of 5 with 2 cots and the fireplace. Looking forward to this snow/rain ending to dry and clean this out for many years of camping adventures to come! Well done
Wonderful attention to detail on the tents and accessories Made in America. Very nice staff. The visit to the factory surpassed all my expectations. Definitely worth the trip if you have any questions or just trying to decide on a color.
This is lightweight material that really protects the tent in a downpour. It was pretty easy to set up. We were happy to have it when hit with unexpected rain storm.
I got this tent when my son started Cub Scouts. It is bullet proof in heavy wind and rain. When the other Troop tents are failing in a big storm, the Vagabond is a fortress of a tent. It’s a perfect size for a couple of cots and it’s great that you can stand up in it. Ours is now 8 years old, dozens of camping trips and still looks like new. This tent is a very good value given that it likely will last a lifetime.
My wife and I purchased the Skyliner Tent last year as well as several other Springbar products. All have proven to be of the highest quality and user friendly. Springbar Customer Service group is second to none. I want to thank both John and Mike for all their help during our purchase and with questions after the sale. Those are the secret words… “After the Sale Service”. In my 78 years on this planet, I have learned that Company’s who support great customer service also produce incredible products…Springbar Tents.
I was a boy scout when I was younger and completely forgot about canvas tents. Ive had some of the top brands and always find after 2-3 years I needed a replacement. After ordering my vagabond this is my new goto tent. Ground cloth is by far the best I’ve seen (I have a couple snow peak tents with ground cloths costing twice as much but no where near this quality.) I called about my order and had communication back the same day! I will definitely be a customer for life. I’m headed to the Great Sand Dunes Ntl park and then PINS in Texas for some beach camping. Can’t wait to use my new Springbar.
My second Classic Jack. Looking fwd to breaking it in.
Buy the best... and only cry once...
We ordered the panels and they are great for additional shade and protection for rain. They shipped fast. The zippers are easy to use. We highly recommend them.
Replaced the poles on my tent. The quality of my tent is excellent. I have had it for over 12 years and it is still in excellent condition. Thanks
